Strange thing is, I have an asterisk over my wife's contact and there is no message from her. Anyone else had this problem?

Could it be an RSS Feed, have yea any set up for her or a Missed Call maybe???

Ok this is a bug. Because all of my friends who have 5800 v40 say they don't get asterisk anymore. Hope they fix it in next update if there is any.

may be it's time for you to hard-reset ur phone...

I never get crashed with v40 firmware (contact bar homescreen). Just need to restart now and then to clear the RAM back to ~36MB when the RAM dropped to less than 24MB and slowing the system down...

After I installed v40 my music player was crashing after the first song play.
I hard reseted it and now everything is working fine. (Please take a backup of your phone before you hard reset it).

geta swiss manager pro to reclaim memory everytime it dropped. instead of restarting the phone every now and then.

I had the asterisk problem even after I hard reset. The way I fixed it was to completely delete the contact, then re-enter it. Sounds like a tedious pain in the neck because it is, but asterisk notification worked after that.

probably u're not using Contacts Bar HS???

I used Contacts Bar HS (which definitely a RAM eater) with nUnlock and Profile Scheduler running behind.

on contact bar alone, most 5800xm user that i know can only get around 44MB of free RAM after RAMBlow, which is the same as what I have...

however, I prefer not to use RAMBlow as it terminate all of my background process (nUnlock and Profile Scheduler). However, is there any way to set some kind of exclusion rules in RAMBlow???

hmmm... i just get an alternative for RamBlow... but not as good as RamBlow though...

Using HandyTaskman we can kill all process and set an exclusion rules. The similar thing is done by RamBlow... however, the amount of memory freed is not as much as using RamBlow... still, i can deal with it...
