That's not a bug! It's working as intended.
Nokia has never had emote-icons in Symbian.

Well they should because I had a bit hands on experience with the  Grin N900 and it has it so think its only  Tongue  fair that they can put a smiley face in the Cheesy next update...

The emoticons of s60 are limited to the following:

I have to reformat my phone...again....  Angry

Why do I have to reformat my phone...again....?  Huh

My phone makes me sad.  Cry

I cannot believe how 90's Symbian looks and acts!  Shocked

It's not a bug, it' a "feature"  Roll Eyes

Do you think it'll ever work correctly?  Undecided

Buy a Nokia... and ... kiss your data goodbye.  Kiss

Etc.

I am sure that some of the newer  S40 phones support emoticons and smiley's, but series 60 has never supported them, cant understand why they don't add them, surely if S40 can do it then S60 must be able to.

I agrees with  Cheesy abun880007 if S40 can do it then S60 should be able to Grin. It's a smartphone Roll Eyes how smart does it have to be  Shocked to use emoticons and smiley???

Just remember, Symbian S60 is a workhorse phone interface. It's not made to be flashy cool OS (iPhone OS) or a check out this app OS (Android). Symbian is made to get the job done. That's why S40s have smileys, they're consumer level non-smartphones just for general use, not made for the phone nerd but for the two-year contractor.

No, the n900 is an internet tablet with calling integrated. It's Nokia's first and so-far-only internet tablet with calling.

Clearly no one's answers will suffice for the original poster, judging by his or hers replies to previous posters, so I'd recommend not replying to this thread further.
