Hi everyone,

I'm planning to purchase a Nokia E72.

After much research, I think this phone best suits me.

1. It's symbian and my passion for modding lies here.
2. 600Mhz of processing power = More than N97/5800/x6
3. According to GSM Arena it has great sound quality. I take my music with me so this is a must.
3. More stable Symbian S60v3 3.2.
4. Tremendous Battery Life.
5. 5 MP camera.

Two more things that I need more information on.
1. Does it have the option to go on MTP aka Media Transfer
* I use playlists with media player, when I sync my music I get the playlists I've prepared on my PC transferred to my phone (songs and the actual playlist)
2. What is the latest firmware version and is it hackable?

What other pros and cons can you tell me about this phone?

I just updated firmware to version 23.002 today.

Good phone overall. However, the screen resolution should be better.

Hi everyone,

I'm planning to purchase a Nokia E72.

Dude be careful of this phone. Very uneven build quality, some great, some bad, and there has been a space bar bug widely reported. I wanted to get an E72 so I did a lot of research but I couldn't risk the space bar bug, bad build quality, or other keyboard errors so I bought a BlackBerry instead. Check out Symbian Guru they had a series on an E72 test and after a while she got the space bar bug too. I think it's too risky unless you can buy from Nokia or your carrier and make them give you a replacement if yours has problems. I would definitely not buy one for cash with no warranty.

Right now even though it's not as good on paper, the E71 seems a safer bet if your phone MUST work.

Plus, I personally don't trust gsmarena. I checked out their advertisers (they have links to shops on each phone page) and I found many complaints of fraud and terrible service on the net.

hey mate, just read those reviews and man am i in love with this phone. but i have to get it from nokia themselves. Or fix the keyboard issue in a firmware update. maybe when the price goies down, it's almost $400 here in the Philippines. and quite frankly i can't afford that.

Good luck, if anybody can whip that phone into shape, it's probably you Wink

I wish I could get one, but I just couldn't take the chance. LOL my 5800 is acting up, the SOB woke me up three times in the middle of the night with alarms I set for the afternoon. The clock was all screwed up. And the phone wasn't even turned on when the alarm went off! Nokia...phone of mysteries and problems :p

Lol, well despite the quirks and mishaps i still loved my 5800 and even if it's not worth the money, i'll buy one in the future just to play with it. Smiley

anyway i think that the E72 has it's advantages, it's just unupdated, that's all. i think a firmware update, and lower pricing will definitely earn this as my primary phone. thanks for all the feedback guys.

I have said it before and I told you that I was never going to say this again.
Come to Norway and buy the phone here.

I have now bought my third Nokia e72 for my girlfriend, and just like the other two phones I have not experienced any problems at all. And btw I think the newest firmware fixed the spacebar button thing.

On the other hand I can tell you that on two of the 3 phones I bought I was a little bit unhappy about the back-cover not fitting perfectly.. But you can just bend it into shape with your hands, it's really easy to fix it..
