Hi,

Few months ago I used for a while Windows Live Messenger for S60v5 and Nokia Messaging. As far as I know, WLM creates a mailbox for the account set up. Just like Nokia Messaging does. After using both programs for a while, I decided to uninstall them because they was useless for my daily use of the mobile (specially because I don't have a cheap permanent Internet connection).

BUT. The Hotmail toolbox created by one of these programs (can't tell exactly which one) can't be deleted now. It's located in the Messages menu and it haves a blue round icon with a interrogation mark on it. When I try to access it's options, I get an error that says something like "Unable to execute file for security reasons". It contains around 50 e-mails I suspect using disk space. In the Mailbox settings menu, there is absolutely NO mailbox set. This Hotmail box is like a ghost.

A simple hard reset of the system would probably fix it but I don't want to loose my data. And even if I perform a backup first and then restore it, this "bug" will be restored too. I'd gone to a Nokia Care to ask if they knew something and they wanted to keep my phone there to perform a hard reset with data lost. I said no, of course.

Has anyone had a problem like this one? How to solve it? Thank you very much.

I'm using a Nokia 5800 XM with a v40 firmware completely up to date.

Reinstall Windows Live Messenger, set it up, and then uninstall it again.

i have had the same problem with my Nokia N97,
i use ybrowser for delet the mailbox!
Open yBrowser, go to search, type in "Hotmail", mark all found items (around 40) and delete the files!

Thank you, this would be a great thing to do, but I've follow Andnewman's advice and it worked. After installing and re-uninstalling WLM, the mailbox is gone.

Thank you both!
