This latest multimedia sensation puts masses of music power at your fingertips - and comes with a highly appealing, mass-market price-tag.
This device is great for people who like to express themselves through their music, their style, and the friends they keep. It comes in a choice of five vivid color combinations, finished within a cool, stainless steel frame.
Check out the scrolling Contacts carousel: it lists your 20 top contacts with their thumbnail image and conversation history - for you to join in the conversation instantly.
Touch the pop-up Media Bar to bring up music, photos or videos - and to access online sharing sites like Ovi Share, Flickr and VOX.
The Nokia 5530 is powerful and fast too. You can stack it with up to 12,000 music tracks or tons of videos and photos. It also provides built-in Wireless LAN and, in selected markets, three months of free and fast wireless Internet - thanks to a collaboration between Nokia and Boingo, which works with hotspot operators around the world.
The Nokia 5530 XpressMusic is a brilliant and youthful, touch-screen phone that brings music and entertainment vividly to life. You are not allowed to view links. Register or LoginMore info & specs here

its nokia's most mean phone ever. look at that home screen. makes my more powerful 5800 look useless compared to it!!!!! and 5530 is nokia's cheapest touch phone. 200pounds. they shouldn't have such an awesome homescreen for such a low end device! AND WIFI?!?!!!!!! i suddenly hate my 5800..

Nokia today introduced the Nokia 5530 XpressMusic, a compact XpressMusic device that uses a touch interface for accessing people and content on the brilliantly clear homescreen. The 'scrolling' Contacts Bar provides direct access to 20 people and their latest conversations and media updates. The homescreen also features one touch shortcuts to content and popular social networks, like Facebook and MySpace. The Nokia 5530 XpressMusic follows in the footsteps of the top-rated Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, expanding the touch XpressMusic phone range with a youthful device that has a solid stainless steel frame finish and comes in five vivid colors. At the core of the Nokia 5530 XpressMusic is the music and entertainment experience. It is an ideal device for those who wish to quickly and easily access, share and mix a huge selection of media. In true XpressMusic form, the Nokia 5530 XpressMusic is a great music player with 27 hours of playback time, excellent audio quality and a 4 GB memory card for storing music and other media. Videos, either self made or from social media sites such as Youtube and Facebook can be enjoyed on the brilliantly clear 2.9 inch widescreen display. New music can be purchased through the Nokia Music Store, either directly on the phone or through a PC. The music collection is easily managed and can be synchronized with the PC using the Nokia Music for PC application. Calls and music can be conveniently managed and listened to with the Nokia Stereo Headset WH-205 with tangle-free cable. The innovative 'people carousel' features thumbnail images of up to 20 close friends and provides easy access to them and their communications history including emails, phone calls, photos or other social media updates. The Nokia 5530 XpressMusic also features the pop-up Media Bar so music, photos, videos, Internet and on-line sharing applications such as Ovi Share, Flickr and VOX are just a touch away. The Nokia 5530 XpressMusic supports GSM/EDGE networks and also offers fast and affordable access to internet services via the integrated wireless LAN over the ubiquitous wireless networks. Nokia is collaborating with Boingo and offers three months of free Internet access in select markets. Boingo works with hundreds of hotspot operators around the world in familiar locations such as airports, hotels, coffee shops and restaurants. The Nokia 5530 XpressMusic is expected to begin shipping in the third quarter of 2009 at an estimated retail price of EUR 199 before taxes and subsidies. [gallery columns="3" size="thumbnail"]

it doesnt have 3G, GPS, thinner but with a smaller screen, headphones are put in the the bottoms of the phone, 70 mb phone memory and only 4gb memory card included, i think the camera will be the same as the 5800's camera, its battery is not good - standby is 336 hrs, talk time is 4 hr 54 mins and music play is 27 hrs where as 5800's stand-by is 406 hrs, talk time is 8 hrs 45 mins and music play is 35 hr,
i wont replace my 5800 for this,
only real advantage it has over 5800 is price.

Nokia might not admit it but this is their second attempt at 5800, and it looks alot better. Why didn't they just have the 5800 looking like this? The form factor of my 5800 is shocking compared to this, i'm tempted to get rid of my 5800.

I see no reason why 5800 can't get that homescreen, but well who knows what are they thinking. I like the style though, looks sleek.

Man that's not fair.. we have 5800 and a cheaper phone has nicer homescreen with widgets? The contacts bar provides access to 20 people but at our phone just 4! That's ridiculous....

the specs of both devices are almost the same, so if we don't get this homescreen on the 5800 we can easly flash the 5530's firmware on the 5800 (the 5530's processor is probably even slower, so it will run better on the 5800).

You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login5800 and 5530 comparison. Diff i found was, 5530 has a smaller screen (2.9",But better homescreen, upto 20 contacts and supports widgets and music controls) shipped with Less ext memory (4GB, can be upgraded to 16gb like the tube) less phone memory (70mb) No GPS (I am already feeling better now ) NO 3G (hence no Secondary Front Camera) Lower battery power (1000 mAh) - hence talktime is drastically lesser than the tube. Available in more colors. 3.5mm jack is at the bottom (Which is a better idea IMO). Front stereo speakers (Which is a better idea IMO compared to 5800's side stereo speakers). No TV-Out better processor (same as N97) Lower video recording resolution.
