Proposals for handy shell...

1)  Add a music plugin to allow he music player to be controlled via the homescreen (Basic options such as play/pause, previous and next)...

2) Make wallpapers available for the homescreen

3) Allow another tab so that users can select the default homescreen, along with the ones in Handy shell...not everyone likes a cluttered and crowded homescreen....

4) Add another tab so that we can view the images in our gallery...(something similar to what they have in the touch flo interface in the HTC phones)

Proposal for Handy Shell

I love how the Nokia N97 has some movable widgets (in Handy Shell's case, plugins). If this was to be done to Handy Shell, i think the movability of the plugins would be a lot easier for users depending on priority of plugins [e.g. a new plugin of contacts on the topmost row, list of apps (that could be modified) on the middle row, weather forecast on the bottom row, and on top of everything, a digital or analogue clock with the date]

Proposal for Handy Shell

I alredy mailed epocware team about this bug maybe 2 months ago (no response yet) , it would be great if you fix the dialing from contacts , when I try to call from contacts I always get busy signal (messaging  works OK tho)
and it wold be great if we get another row in shortcuts (10 apps instead 5).

another year free of handy weather will be nice  Smiley

btw Handy Shell is best app. IMO  , keep up the great work epocware  Wink

In silence I find reason

Let's face it Handy Shell is really the only one of its kind. It's almost perfect. I would like to see more plug in options for the home screen.

Also compatibility with the theme of choice would be great to see. Reduction in app. size footprint and a faster load/screen switch times.
I am rather happy with the 12 spots on the home screen and the apps screen alone holds another 12 apps just like an iphone. The occasional contact screen bug and crashes really  could be looked into as well. It would be great if email option was added to the contact options of dial or message.
I have four nokia phones three of them use handy shell app. It is the most friendly, multi tasker app out there in the app world in my opinion.

Handy Shell to take over the whole screen and not give me an otption to default under any circumstance to the nokia standy by default screen. it is annoying and unnecessary. I am here looking for a more complete integration of the Shell into the phone footprint.

Email notification as a option plug in, more calendar options including the to do notes etc and not just appointments.
Also ability to disable contact and app screens and just have the Handy standby screen active and nothing else, no default standby nothing just pure handy shell. It would be fantastic.

Another annoying thing i found recently. i have handy weather and something happened. i tried to reinstall the app, input my app code again but i can't seem to make handy weather work on my internet connection no matter what i do. it only allows me to update weather via wap services. this was not the case at all, few months ago it started happening for no reason. i am still baffled as to what in the world happened.

ok here are my few cents about this app. hope your next update will incorporate at least few of the features that you will read on this thread.

All my suggestions are concerning the s60v5 (Nokia 5800)

Handy Shell:
- Add a touch scroll/icon bar similar to what is used in HTC's Touchflo (as on the Touch Diamond, for example). Another example of a  similar system is in Mobimate Worldmate for S60v5.
- Add another screen that is cleaner and less cluttered. Perhaps with only a clock screensaver and maybe a dialer button overtop of a user-defined background. A kind of aesthetically pleasing idle-screen.
-Sorry if this is stupid, but I don't own Handy Shell yet (hoping to win it =]). Can you allow users to swipe from side to side to toggle through the different screens?

Ok, so this is a bit of an addition/modification to some of my previous suggestions above:

So, my idea is touch gestures basically. From any of the main screens, the user can swipe left-to-right or right-to-left to switch through all of the main screens. If the user swipes top-to-bottom, the Handy Shell Dialer/Search comes up. If the user then swipes botton-to-top, the dialer will disappear and the screen they were on before will reappear. If they again swipe bottom-to-top, the sparse clock/screensaver type screen I suggested above will appear. To return to the previous screen, they just swipe top-to-bottom. Also, gestures should be able to be turned off in the options screen.

Dial Start/Search doesn’t currently search music, pictures or movies on the phone I think. Would it be possible to optionally add these to the search (especially music files by ID3 tag) from the options menu? Also, add kinetic scrolling to the search results.

Add a button on the contacts screen that brings up a full list of contacts with similar functionality to the standard nokia contacts except that it has kinetic scrolling (as well as any other features you would deem suitable)

Add a similar button on the applications screen that would bring up a finger-friendly list view of all applications on the phone. This list would have kinetic scrolling.

I propose to incorporate "HANDY WALL STREET" with ties to news from CNBC and BLOOMBERG! It would sell like hot cakes.
